Event: Solar Hot Water Team Presenting at Innovation Showcase [Boston]

by Catherine Laine
October 10th, 2008
ASME Innovation Showcase

The American Society for Mechanical Energy (AMSE) Innovation Showcase is coming to Boston October 31.

Date: October 31, 2008
Time: 9am-12pm
Location: Sheraton Boston Hotel
Republic Ballroom, Plaza Level
30 Dalton Street
Boston, MA 02199

Attending the showcase is free, but you must register for the event.

Description:

Inspiring students to be product innovators and entrepreneurs, ASME’s Innovation Showcase (IShow) provides a platform for top collegiate student teams to compete for seed money to commercialize their idea. While demonstrating their technological creativity and business acumen, winners must provide the commercial feasibility of their products to a judging panel and audience of successful innovators, industry experts, venture capitalists, and intellectual property specialists for the ultimate reward: Industry recognition and access to over $20K in seed funds.

The IShow was founded in collaboration with the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance (NCIIA) and the Idea to Product (I2P) competition at the University of Texas, Austin.

10 teams were chosen to participate in the 2008 ASME IShow competition. Among them is the Berkeley Solar Hot Water team we’ve been partnering with to develop a sub $100 solar hot water system. Congratulations to the team for all their hard work.
