Final Prep before tomorrow’s charcoal Training

by Catherine Laine
August 23rd, 2006

Gerthy has pulled some serious magic and another oil drum has appeared in a addition to quite a lot of bagasse. Phew! We only had one drum until now.

We are expecting 40 for tomorrow’s training. Actually deep down we are expecting more. Maybe 50? Pete and I sit in on the nightly logistics meeting for Ekip Chabon. I’m on registration duty with Gerthy and Amy B because of my language skills.

I can’t wait to see the charcoal makers in action. It seems that the modified design is fairly easy to replicate down here.

We all go in for an early night. Tonight, I sleep within my blue mosquito net that Jules let me borrow. I expect the night’s rest to be glorious.
