AIDG FINANCIALS AND SUSTAINABILITY
In its first year since receiving 501 (c) 3
status in January 2005, the AIDG has made tremendous programmatic strides as a
start up organization. It was able to accomplish these things entirely through
the support of private gifts. But this was only possible through the dedication
of an entirely volunteer staff. To make the AIDG's programs sustainable, the
establishment of paid positions for AIDG staff members and the diversification
of revenue sources is a primary goal for 2006. The AIDG has been increasing its
grant seeking and has begun a series of programs to help aid in its revenue
diversification. Programmatically in 2006
the AIDG will continue to aid XelaTeco in its 3-year incubation and will also
expand its programs to the Dominican Republic, creating a new shop to serve the
DR and Haiti.
