Our Funders

The Lemelson Foundation awarded AIDG a grant of $300,000 for the period of 2008-2011. The funds will support our business incubation and technology development programs in Haiti and Guatemala. Lemelson uses its resources to support new inventors in the US and developing countries and thus foster invention-led economic, social and environmentally sustainable development . Their grant is allowing us to form partnerships with companies and university groups designing for the bottom of the pyramid.

Since 2008, an anonymous donor has given AIDG over $75,000 through the FJC Donor Advised Fund. Started in 1995 by a small group of dedicated philanthropists, FJC's mission is to increase and maximize the impact of charitable dollars and to create innovative philanthropic solutions.

In early 2009, AIDG became one of the founding members of ANDE, the Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs. ANDE, housed in the Aspen Institute, is a member-driven organization of NGOs, venture funds, and foundations dedicated to the creation and growth of small and growing businesses (SGBs). This year, ANDE granted AIDG $72,000 from its Capacity Development Fund to create an SME Business Plan Competition System.
