AIDG is pleased to
announce its 2nd business plan competition in Guatemala, GuateVerde
2010! This competition invites local entrepreneurs with new or
established business that provide increased access to energy, water and
sanitation using renewable technologies.
What type of business are we looking for?
"Green" businesses that are either
established (less than 100 employees) or new
Examples of businesses: plastics recycling; solar energy; wind
energy; hydroelectric; water pumps; diagnostics; biodiesal; biogas or
any other business that uses renewable energy and increases access to
energy, water and/or sanitation in Guatemala
The business may be a product distributor, service provider or
manufacturer
The business must present
an environmental, social and/or economic impact in Guatemala
The business must be located within the
following departments: Quetzaltenango, Totonicapan, Solola, San Marcos,
Retalhuleu, Suchitepequiz, Huehuetenango, Chimaltenango, and Guatemala.
What is the prize?
A $10,000 grant
Available financial assistance via $40,000 in
very low interest loan
Technical and logistical assistance
Business planning and administration support

The application will be available at this
