Special Earthday Greeting |

Dear Friends and Supporters,Having completed another Earthday I have gained an immense respect for
the multitude of figures, both good and bad, that have come to
represent this day: 20% of Brazilian transport running off of ethanol,
1.5 watts per meter squared of Global Warming offset by Global Dimming,
the 1 year of preservation of a baloney sandwich in a sunken woods hole
sub ending deep ocean garbage dumping. Yet through all of the
information in all of my interactions today my mind kept returning to
one figure. 100%.
This is the amount of our support during our first
year that came from private donors like yourselves. Your support has
helped us give earth friendly options to communities with few other
choices. We greatly appreciate that opportunity and thank you for that
support. We hope that you had a wonderful Earthday.
Sincerely,

Peter Haas

Biodigesters and Frogs:
Effluent
from biodigesters can be used as an organic fertilizer for a wide
variety of terrestrial and aquatic plants, such as rice and duckweed
(pictured below), as well as a substrate for growing organic mushrooms.
Biodigester effluent has also has been shown to increase productivity
in small-scale fish farming where duckweed is used as the main food
source.
