AIDG finishes composting latrine to serve 300 in Petite-Anse, Haiti

The rains that accompanied Hurricane Noel last month made for unpleasant walking for Petite-Anse’s residents. Mud on unpaved streets mixed with litter and raw sewage in this Cap Haitien neighborhood in Northern Haiti.
As the waters subsided, residents banded together and helped AIDG and its local partners SOIL/SOL and AFAPA construct a community dry composting latrine. In a flood-prone area, this type of latrine can significantly reduce contamination of drinking water.
The public toilets will serve 300 people in Petite-Anse. Continue.
