Picture Yourself in Guatemala
TecoTours--Imagine building a windmill from recycled car parts, and installing it in a rural village without electricity. Imagine constructing a water filter and providing clean water to a school. The TecoTours Program is an international service-based learning program incorporated into the non-profit organization, AIDG (Appropriate Infrastructure Development Group).
A TecoTour is not merely an opportunity to observe another culture and community or to survey a variety of projects or organizations in a developing country. TecoTours involve connection and engagement. On a TecoTour you will directly impact rural communities with the installation of appropriate technologies. These technologies not only protect the environment but also improve people’s lives. On a TecoTour, you will roll up your sleeves, get your hands dirty, and working on meaningful projects using novel technologies. You will meet the people that your work will impact, and you will see evidence of your effort (see photo gallery).
